Today was low energy, kinda verging on grumpy, totally unmotivated kinda days.
I didn't look at my schedule and To Do's - except a quick glance to be sure there was nothing I had committed to and was accountable for. It's a day off, after all.
But I also didn't feel good about not doing any of the many things that I profess to wanting to do. Even the things I'm passionate about.
And yet the resistance persisted.
Outside, the sun was shining. Finally a beautiful spring day! I should go out there. I should move my body!
I KNOW all the things I SHOULD do...
After a second cup of coffee, I managed to take a quick peek outside. SO lovely out. And so many yard cleaning task out there - not even on my written TO DO list yet.
I grabbed a big trash bag and some work gloves and ventured out. I grabbed a few things to toss.
It feel really good to just get rid of some of the things that just really need to go. That motivated me a bit,so I pulled a few weeds out of the garden bed. Yeah!
Having tossed those bits on the pathway, I grabbed the rake to clear those and all the pine needle accumulation from the winter. I wasn't going for perfection, just for moving the major eyesores out of the view.
Feeling somewhat refreshed and enlivened, I whipped up some lunch and marveled at how much better my mood and energy was.
I did a few more things -not all of the ones I wanted to accomplish, but enough to feel ok about just having the day off.
Not only did being outside and moving and doing something feel good, but physically decluttering really helps our minds "declutter" too. The barrage of unhelpful thoughts cease. And those thoughts, it turns out, are exhausting!
It turned out that today was a wonderful day and I'm Celebrating this winding path that brought me a little bit of
self care and sunshine!
Serving others because life can be fun and happy.
